1. Locate The Ancient Armory or Find A Power Cell. Head east of Mother's Rise to find the underground bunker. This will automatically trigger the beginning of the quest. After scanning and looking around, Aloy will notice that there are power cells missing.
Unlike other games, leveling in Horizon Zero Dawn doesn't make Aloy strong in terms of armor protection or weapon damage. These are dependent on clothing, the weapons themselves, and the modifications that you can loot from killed machines.
The Banuk weapons have a few things going for them. They offer some role compression of your weapons. You only get four slots on the wheel and I find that the Banuk hunter bow (with the right mods) gives me a weapon that is both high-damage and has good handling so that I don't need a Powershot bow on my wheel.

Second bit - in combat, your rolls actually work best if you try to roll through enemy attacks in the direction of the enemy attack. It's counter intuitive, but it's much better than rolling backwards or to the sides. The key to getting strong early is to get the shadow hunter bow ASAP - hardpoint arrows are a gamechanger.

The lower tier ones I have and could fit into a play style but the mats aren't as easy to get. IMO a good loadout includes: Hunter Bow Sharpshot with Tearblast and Hardpoint/Adv. Strike Blast Sling of choice. Status effect weapon. Warrior bows have a short range. Outside of that it's pretty much a guaranteed miss.
5 points should be easy to get early on (fast leveling, loads of skill point reward sites) and Double Shot is extremely powerful. Heavy Lifter is unfortunately a prerequisite that is almost useless. There are too few situations where you take up heavy weapons and even then, the increased movement speed does very little for you.
